President Dr William Samoei Arap Ruto is facing opposition not only in Kenya but beyond the boundaries. He is barely one year in office after he received the reigns of leadership from the immediate retired incumbent president Uhuru Kenyatta after he narrowly and controversially defeated the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Movement presidential flag bearer Hon Raila Amolo Odinga during the hotly contested August 2022 general elections.
President Ruto was chosen by IGAD as the mediator between two factions in the war torn Sudan but it seems as if things are running out of his hand. This is because the president is facing imminent replacement in that role after the fighting generals refused that he cannot play that role. According to Kenyans.co.ke, the foreign affairs minister has noted that Sudan was justified in replacing president Ruto and they have demanded that he be replaced with South Sudan President Salva kiir.
