Embakasi East MP Babu Owino now claims there are plans by the government to arrest him.
Babu Owino had been released on a Ksh100,000 bail and an alternative of Ksh200,000 bond.
Owino further alleged that charges will be fabricated in order to arraign him before a court of law.
Milimani Chief Magistrate Lukas Onyina ruled that charges pressed against the Embakasi East MP were mere aspersions.
“Plans to arrest and fix trumped up charges against me is coming soon,” the vocal Opposition legislator said on Twitter.
However, there is no indication of which accused person will interfere with a specific witness.”The prosecution has not established reasons for the denial of bail,” it was ruled.
“One of the reasons advanced by the prosecution is that they are likely to interfere with witnesses.
The arrest of Babu Owino had sparked outrage and concern among many Kenyans, who are demanding answers and justice from the authorities.
Owino was arrested on Tuesday night and he was in a state of incommunicado as people never knew his whereabouts. It took the intervention of his wife to look for him in police stations around Nairobi and the DCI offices before he could trace him in Kirinyaga County.
