Kapsaret Member of Parliament (MP) Oscar Sudi is celebraing his daughter Faith Chemutai’s academic excellence after she graduated with a Masters Degree in Finance Management from the University of Kent, Canterbury, United Kingdom.
Sharing the good news on his X account, Sudi expressed pride in his daughter’s accomplishment, noting the challenges she overcame throughout her academic journey.
“It has been an arduous journey for my daughter, Faith Chemutai, throughout her academic life,” the MP shared.
“Today as we celebrate her success story at home, in Kapseret,” he added.
Sudi’s academic qualification case
In June 2023, Sudi responded to allegations of being a class seven school dropout after a lengthy court session examining his academic qualifications.
Sudi said he deserved to be celebrated for being a school dropout who had managed to come this far in his career.
During court proceedings, the investigating officer, Derrick Kaisha, reported that he had checked all the schools Sudi claimed to have attended and found no record of his enrollment, except for a primary school in Eldoret.
Kaisha informed the court that the evidence indicated Sudi did not take the KCSE exam at Highway Secondary, nor did he study at KIM, where he claimed to have earned a Diploma in Business Management.
“The only records we found of him being a student was at Luok Ngetuny Primary School where the teachers confirmed that he enrolled in 1995 under the name Kipchumba Kipng’etich, but that he exited the school at Class Seven,” Kaisha said.
