Transport and Roads Cabinet Secretary (CS) Kipchumba Murkomen on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, received a rare birthday surprise from his staff and fellow ministers.
The CS was celebrated in a sweet ceremony held in Karen after a joint cabinet committee meeting attended by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Attorney General Justin Muturi and other CSs.
In a series of photos seen by K24 Digital, the outspoken CS was seen sharing a cake with his colleagues who sang him a birthday song as he marked 45 years.
“After the Joint Cabinet Committee Meeting in Karen this afternoon, we took time off to celebrate Cabinet Secretary for Roads and Transport @kipmurkomen on his Big Day. Happy 45th Birthday, Mr. Murkomen,” a statement by DP Gachagua read.
The CS expressed gratitude to his colleagues and the staff at the Ministry of Roads and Transport and those of the Deputy President’s Office for the special surprise.
“What a special team we serve in! Many thanks for the surprise birthday celebration hosted in my honour by H.E. Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and my Cabinet colleagues after today’s Joint Cabinet Committee session at the DP’s Official Residence in Karen Nairobi. Grateful also to the staff at the Ministry of Roads and Transport and those of the Deputy President’s Office for the very yummy cake that was escorted by a violinist! Energised for the service of our nation,” he wrote.
