Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition is holding another series of demonstrations across the country to protest against the high cost of living, the rise in fuel prices and President William Ruto’s regime in general.
Narc Kenya Party leader Martha Karua, former Cabinet Secretary Peter Munya and former Jubilee Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni were holed up in a hotel in Meru for the better part of Wednesday morning.
They intended to hold a press conference to address their supporters at the hotel. However, when the police got word about their presence and intentions, a contingent was dispatched to prevent the press conference from happening.
Munya, Karua and Kioni tried to hold the meeting unsuccessfully and on seeing the futility of their endeavour, requested a couple of boda boda riders to take them away from the ensuing mayhem.
In a video shared by Citizen TV on Twitter, the leaders are seen being ridden away in a huff each on their own boda boda and the police signalling them to disappear from the vicinity.
