The absence of Azimio leaders in the Azimio demonstrations left many leaving questions about their whereabouts. The only leader spotted in the demonstrations was Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna.

Mr Sifuna was spotted in Kibra with demonstrators as they tried to access Kang’ethe grounds. While making a statement yesterday, Mr Sifuna condemned the acts by the police where they used unnecessary excessive force.

“The arming of uniformed Kenyans against innocent unarmed citizens constitutes a crime against humanity and perpetrators need to know that in the fullness of time, they will be held individually accountable,” Sifuna said.

While trying to give a reason why the other leaders were nowhere to be seen, the National Minority leader claimed that they are fully involved in the demonstrations.

He claimed that they have plans, some which are known to the public and others which remain as their own secret plans. He said that they are playing different roles and their absence is strategic.
