ODM Politician Says Kikuyu And Kalenjin Communities Are The Poorest Despite Having Presidents

Orange Democratic party member Alinur Mohammed has said that he does not understand how the Kikuyu and the Kalenjin people are the poorest in the country and in Africa.

Taking to his Twitter page, Alinur has said that despite having many elected presidents coming from their tribes, the Kikuyus and the kalenjins are lagging behind in terms of development.

He has said that maybe it is due to the fact that electing presidents from ones tribe only benefits a few individuals compared to the many people who campaign and wake up very early in the morning to vote for them.

“I don’t understand why Kikuyus and Kalenjins are still among the poorest people in Africa, and they have had Presidents since Kenya got independence! Does it mean even having a person from your tribe elected as the president only benefits a few people?” He said.
