Nyanza residents have gone to court in protest of allegedly discrimination and police brutality in their region.
The move comes after Azimio One Kenya leader Raila Odinga announced he will held a gathering in Siaya on Friday.
A section of the Nyanza region has filed a case at the Milimani High Court in Nairobi seeking to leave Kenya and form their own country citing discrimination from the Kenya Kwanza administration.
Thousands of Luo residents want the court to compel the government to call for a referendum to enable the Luo to leave Kenya and form their own state.
ODM leader will on Friday lead his opposition team for prayer sessions at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Park in Bondo.
Through a statement, the Azimio La Umoja coalition said the interdenominational prayers will be for victims of police brutality during the anti-government protests.
Part of the statement also stated that the Azimio leaders will use the occasion to condemn IG Japheth Koome and demand that those who were involved in the killings be held personally responsible.
