The Azimio’s dialogue team have revealed that the Senate leadership will be forced to convene a special session following the agreement reached during a meeting held at Bomas of Kenya today.
As seen in the information shared by the National Dialogue committee, the technical team comprising of Dr. Muthoni Thiankola, Linda Musumba, Nick Biketi and Dr. Duncan Ojwang of Kenya Kwanza wing, Jeremiah Kioni, Adams Oloo, Zein Abubakar and Isabel Githinji of Azimio wing, will frame the agenda for consideration by the dialogue team.
The technical team will also review the bipartisan talks framework agreement to incorporate the negotiation teams resolution.
Moreover, the team agreed that the parliament leadership of both the National Assembly and the Senate will process a motion to legally establish the dialogue team, a move that will force the Senate (which is currently in recess) to convene a special session.
“It was agreed that the leadership of both the National Assembly and the senate will process a motion to legally establish the dialogue team. The national Assembly is in session and the leadership shall process the same this week. The Senate is in recess but the Senate leadership will process the dame as soon as possible in a special session to be convened,” the Azimio wing informed.
