The Azimio camp led by the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga had announced plan to resume protests, claiming that the bill had oppressive clauses which would make life unbearable for Kenyans owing to the hard economic times.

In a press briefing on Thursday, Karua announced that the opposition will decide on the course of action on Tuesday during the Kamukunji rally.

“We have decided to invite Kenyans to a consultation at the Kamukunji grounds on Tuesday, 27th of June at 10 AM where the next course of action will be decided.”

“As a people when we have come together, we have always found solutions even to our worst problems. It will not be different this time, and we believe that it is the voices of the people that will prevail.”

“The only time we have suffered longer than we should is only when we have allowed dictators to rule longer than they should, and is only when divide and rule succeeds and we will not allow that to happen. Kenyans cannot be hopeless in their own country against rogue leadership. Not in a democracy like ours,” said Karua.

Karu’s remarks comes days after the pro-Jubilee party faction led by the former Ndaragwa Member of Parliament Jeremiah Kioni threatened to impeach President William Ruto, on claims that he had failed to heed to his promises, especially on reducing the cost of living.

In his remarks, Kioni argued that it is not a must that Ruto completes the five-year term in office, and the opposition can make his stay in State House shorter.
