Phelix Odiwuor alias Jalang’o, a Langata MP, disclosed on Thursday that he plans to file a complaint if the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Disciplinary Committee kicks him out of the party.
The Langata MP opened out about the challenges he has had in the party as a result of his choice to identify himself politically with President William Ruto during a radio interview.
The MP stated that he would not leave the party that helped elect him to parliament despite becoming a pariah in his own organization due to his political stances.
“I have never had any serious differences with Baba (Raila), I love Baba so much, a political member, father figure and everything. I have never wronged him and I have never left ODM party and I never will,” Jalang’o said.
“We will appeal, even if the case goes all the way to the Supreme Court,” Jalang’o insisted.
He added that he has always kept an eye on the commander of the Azimio and that his friendship with Raila has never faltered.
The former performer was unwavering in his commitment to working with President William Ruto, asserting that he was being unfairly maligned because other ODM members had been collaborating with the Head of State without being subjected to the same level of scrutiny as him.
The newly elected MP explained that he had an affair with the President because he wanted to make sure that Nyanza as a whole and his constituency in Lang’ata received progress.
In the course of the discussion, the MP disclosed that he had personally called Raila prior to visiting President Ruto in Lang’ata to officially inaugurate initiatives for affordable housing. The MP questioned why his isolation was the outcome of the choice.
Jalango is a member of a group of ODM dissident lawmakers who have come under fire from ODM stalwarts for rejecting Raila and going against the grain.
The MPs are already facing disciplinary action from the party. Raila has requested that the dissident politicians quit and seek a new mandate from the electorate as part of his demands in the bipartisan discussions with Kenya, Kwanza.
