Celebrated Journalist Larry Madowo has shared light moments with his former boss Gathoni Wamuchomba, who is now the Member of Parliament of Githunguri Constituency.
Larry used to work as the breakfast show host at Bahasha FM which was owned by Gathoni wa Muchomba.
While at the fourth year in 1999, Gathoni heard that media owner Rose Kimotho was about to open a vernacular radio station Kameme Fm where she went to seek a job. She carried the records of all the projects she had done which made her land at the station and started airing the popular Canjamuka show from 9 am to 1 pm.
The lawmaker is no stranger to controversy.In August 2017, barely weeks after clinching her seat, she went on national TV and lambasted a proposal for salary cut for MPs that by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission.
“I want to be paid well. I want to be honored for who I am,” she said, remarks which didn’t go down well with Kenyans.
A section of Kiambu residents even began collecting signatures seeking her immediate ouster, even after she apologized for the remarks only hours after making them.
But a few months ago, Kenyans praised her after she opposed finance Bill 2023, The former Kiambu woman representative said she would not be intimidated by those branding her with bad names and even said she was ready to lose her seat for standing for the interests of many Kenyans.
