Kenyans Told Kalonzo Didn’t Write The Azimio Talks Letter As Analyst Alleges Who Wrote It

Governance expert Arnold Maliba now opines that the letter issued to Kenya Kwanza alliance by the opposition crusade inviting them for talks was not written by Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka.

Maliba says the tone used to write the letter did not give a picture of the former Vice President who is regarded as one of the most diplomatic people in the world.

He added that if it were Kalonzo who wrote the letter that was received by National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wa, the conditions set would not be seen. He alleged that the letter was written by Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna.

“I know that Kalonzo’s letter most likely was written by Sifuna because that is not Kalonzo’s letter and tone, Kalonzo is very diplomatic.” He said.

In the controversial letter, Kalonzo, who leads Azimio la Umoja – One Kenya coalition’s 5-member delegation, wrote to Kimani Ichung’wah on Thursday, inviting the Kenya Kwanza team for talks at Serena Hotel in Nairobi on Monday, August 7 at 11 am.

Kalonzo cited urgency and anxiety from Kenyans who were interested in having the sticky issues affecting the country resolved as soon as possible.

“We have taken this step because we believe time is of the essence. While a lot of hard work will be needed to resolve the issues at hand, we believe a speedy start and a time-bound program is necessary to put the nation at ease,” Kalonzo said in the letter addressed to MP Kimani Ichung’wah, who doubles up as the team leader for the Kenya Kwanza delegation.

The letter also demanded that the talks be held in the month of August, adding that Kenya needed to re-unite before the first date of September.

“As a party, we believe that if all concerned show the courage and commitment, there is now a real chance that before the 1st of September, Kenya will be reunited,” he added.
