Intense lobbying and pressure on senator’s is said to have been one of the reason’s why Siaya deputy governor still has his job. There was lobbying from several quarter’s. The deputy governor’s forum is said to have talked to the Kenya Kwanza leadership including the senate majority. Also they are said to have paid the legal fees for William Oduol.ODM Mps in Siaya who have shifted their allegiance are also reported to have met Kenya Kwanza leadership. Eventually a call came from statehouse that is said to have led to Oduol being saved.
But then, this call was a recipe for chaos. The call came to a few of the committee members a few hour’s to the tabling of the report. The instruction’s were that the report be altered with. At this point, all eleven senator’s had unanimously agreed with Oduol’s ouster.
A member of the committee reports that they were under immense pressure to alter the report.He adds that this was impossible as they had spent day’s working on the report. The temperatures started rising and at this point, the Secretariat had been kicked out of the room.
An irked Kenya Kwanza senator is said to have joined the Azimio lawmaker’s to reject the call to change the detail’s of the report in favour of Oduol. He did not even attend the plenary to participate in the debate and vote on the report.
