According to the source, new details have just emerged about the salaries and allowances members of Parliament will take home every month. As per the latest updates reaching us, it has been revealed that MPs have won big because each will take home a huge sum of money every month. As per the details shared by the Star, all lawmakers will take home 1.7 million per month. It has emerged that each lawmaker takes home Ksh 725,502 as a monthly salary, Ksh 120,000 as committee sitting allowances, and Ksh 356,525 as a car maintenance allowance. On top of these, MPs are also given Ksh 462,887 in mileage allowances.
Further, in a statement shared by the Star, it has emerged that some of these MPs are taking home a bigger salary than even President William Ruto.
These are bad news for all Kenyans because the government is increasing the salaries of MPs and other civil servants, and this will force Kenyans to pay more so that the government can generate revenue and pay the lawmakers and other prominent officials in the government.
