President Dr William Samoei Arap Ruto is in Tanzania under the invitation of his boat Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan for food summit. This comes days after the president hosted the first ever Africa Climate Summit in KICC, Nairobi County which was as well attended by President Samia Suluhu Hassan. Back in the country, his Finance Act was under fire after being taken to the Supreme Court where judgement had been given.
The president has received good news as the Supreme Court decided to rule in his favour upholding the ruling by the Court of Appeal that decided to reinstate the Finance Bill. The petition was taken to the court by Busia County Senator Okiya Omtatah who is also a Human Rights Activist in the country. The ruling means that Kenyans have to continue paying more than expected taxes to the government.
