US-based lawyer Ian Mwiti Mathenge has said some people President William Ruto appointed to the Cabinet are least qualified for the position.
Mathenge, who is admitted to practice as an Attorney and Counselor- at -Law of the State of New York, said Cabinet Secretary in charge of Ministry of Investments, Trade and Industry Moses Kuria is an example of person who should not be in a leadership position.
“I think some of the leaders that Ruto has appointed are worst and of very low quality that this country has experienced. In a serious nation @HonMoses_Kuria would never be a leader,” tweeted Mathenge who is a corporate associate in the New York office of Gibson, Dunn, and Crutcher.
Kuria on Saturday night caused a storm on social media after he predicted that a person who he did not name will die on Wednesday 19th and be buried on Saturday 29th.
Netizens were quick to conclude that the outspoken CS for apparently referring to Azimio La Umoja One Kenya party leader Raila Odinga has has called for anti-government protests starting from Wednesday next week.
They warned Kuria against wishing the former Prime Minister death saying he should remember he is not immortal and won’t live forever.
“If anything happens to BABA RAILA we know it. Thanks for the information,” said ODM politician Alinur Mohamed.
But Secretary General of Consumers Federation of Kenya (Cofek) Stephen Mutoro defended Kuria saying people should not read too much from his post as he did not expressly state it is Raila who will die.
“Why are people reading too much from the 7-word sentence from Industry CS Moses Kuria? Nowhere does he show that he predicted the death of Raila Odinga. Its too open,” he said.
“The little dholuo I know ‘jowi’ comes from ‘ajowi’ which means elephant or is it big – if I am not wrong. Only God knows when and how all of us will die. Unless it’s perceived as a threat, anyone thinking loudly about the death of another person should be simply ignored!” Mutoro added.
