Opposition leaders led by former Prime Minister Raila Odinga have addressed the people of media ahead of their three-days-a-week anti-government protests that is set to start on Wednesday.
The opposition alliance has vowed to continue with their planned mass action against the government despite being subjected to threats by the ruling alliance.
President William Ruto through his leaders in National Assembly and Senate called a crisis parliamentary group meeting at State House on Saturday where a plan to counter Azimio protestors was discussed.
Kitui Senator Enock Wambua while speaking during the Azimio PG meeting that was held on Jaramogi Oginga Odinga foundation on Monday in Nairobi has laughed off the strategy, saying that it is likely to backfire.
Wambua has warned that Kenya Kwanza lawmakers who will try to counter the protests by asking their constituents to support the government might meet the wrath of the already cheated mob.
Wambua says that these leaders might be forced by people to say other things on Wednesday.
“I am not a prophet but I can foresee this. Any Member of Parliament from Kenya Kwanza who dares to stop their people from saying they are starving, then that member would be forced by other people to say other things.” Wambua said.
