In a recent political development, Homabay Town MP Peter Kaluma has stirred controversy with a scathing tweet directed at leaders in Kirinyaga County.

The tweet was in response to the recovery of missing government fertilizers from the residence of Kirinyaga Senator Kamau Murango. This comes amid move of Kirinyaga leaders distributing relief food to residents.
Kaluma’s tweet questioned the ethical implications of “stealing” fertilizers and then returning them as relief food then labeling it as progress.
“How do you steal fertilizer then return to the people with relief food calling it Maendereo! I don’t understand these Kenya Kwanza MPs from Mt. Kenya at all! Anyway, let poor ruos harvest gold by the road in Rongo!” MP Peter Kaluma wrote on his official Twitter account.
This move has ruffled feathers in the political landscape, as it seemingly highlights a double standard among MPs from Mt. Kenya.
