Herman Manyora Alleges That Amount of Money Spent in Kisii Event is Huge, Says It’s Wastage

Renowned political analyst Herman Manyora has raised eyebrows on the fiscal responsibility surrounding the recent Kisii Sunday event graced by President William Ruto. Manyora, a respected figure in the political landscape, is urging key investigative bodies in the nation to delve deep into the financial details associated with the event.

In a recent segment on his YouTube channel, Professor Manyora highlighted the heightened political activity across Kenya. With politicians deep in the campaign mood for the looming 2022 elections, there has been a significant increase in functions and gatherings across various regions, especially from the Kenya Kwanza Administration.

Disturbingly, according to Manyora, many of these functions appear to be bankrolled by public coffers.

The Kisii Sunday event, in particular, has caught Manyora’s attention. He opines that relocating the President and his entourage to Kisii for such functions requires substantial financial outlay. This, he contends, is a considerable burden for Kenyan taxpayers, many of whom remain oblivious to the exact amount spent on these occasions.

Professor Manyora’s concerns do not solely lie in the apparent extravagance of these events but more so on the transparency of their associated costs. He emphatically challenges those responsible for coordinating presidential events to come forth with detailed financial records. By doing so, they can provide an exact breakdown of how the public’s money is being spent.

He further alluded to the potential shock that many would experience upon discovering the disparity between official and unofficial expenditure.

This call for accountability resonates with a broader demand for financial transparency, especially as the nation gears up for the pivotal 2027 elections. As politicians crisscross the country in a bid to woo voters, Manyora’s challenge serves as a crucial reminder of the need for prudent fiscal management and transparency in the political sphere.
