Deputy President Hon Riggy G has been dragged to murky waters of Kiambu wrangles pitting Governor Kimani Wamatangi on one side and MCAs on the other side.
Addressing the media outside County Headquarters in Kiambu Town minutes after rejecting his 2023/2024 finance bill, MCAs led by Limuru East member Paul Macharia who doubles as Majority Leader of the Assembly have announced that they won’t let anyone even if its DP Gachagua to interfere with their mission of ‘cleaning’ Kiambu County.
In their speech, the MCAs in a message that is likely to be interpreted as directed to the second in command have said that the County Government operates independently from the National Government hence there is no need for dialogue meetings that don’t bring any results.
The MCAs’ Majority Leader went on to report that they have given Wamatangi a 7-day ultimatum to issue a public apology for failure to which they will Axe him.
“Hiyo ndivyo Mpango iko na si ati ni Siri. Tukimalizana na Mbunge, tunafikia Wamatangi…. Tumempatia 7 days. Within that 7 days wamatangi akue ameomba Msamaha,” Paul Macharia Said.
