Ex-Laikipia Governor Ndiritu Muriithi Speaks After Azimio, KKA Unveiled Joint Agenda For Bomas Talks

Former Laikipia Governor Ndiritu Muriithi has broken his silence barely a day after the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance and the Kenya Kwanza wing unveiled the joint agenda for the Bomas of Kenya talks.

Led by the co-chairs; Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka and the Majority leader in the National Assembly Kimani Ichung’wah, the two coalitions agreed on all the 10 issues tabled, categorizing them in to 5 groups despite President William Ruto’s previous remarks that audit of the 2022 polls and cost of living would not be part of the talks.

“In any civilized and modern democracy, leaders must find way to solve their problems and to hold one another to account. I also hope that the private sector, the churches and all other stakeholders will take this opportunity and present their views.”

“We should not be talking at the periphery and later come to complain if things are not done the way we wanted. Based on how the issues have been grouped, they require professional approach and 60 days is not a long time.”

“Those with concerns should step up as soon as possible and table them before the Dialogue Committee. I am however happy of where we are, and I hope these talks will come up with tangible reforms on what the country has been ailing from,” said Muriithi.

Despite the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga threatening to resume anti-government protests should the talks fail, Muriithi held the view that based on the Azimio, KKA previous meetings, the talks will be successful.
