On Tuesday, President William Ruto presided over his first cabinet meeting at Sagana State Lodge, demonstrating his commitment to punctuality.
His Cabinet Secretaries were all present for the 7 a.m. meeting.
Attorney General Justin Muturi previously stated that the President has never been late to a meeting.
“President Ruto delivers the opening prayer at each of our Cabinet meetings,” he explained.
The President has been on a five-day working tour of the Mt. Kenya region, where he has launched several development initiatives.
According to his itinerary, he will later inaugurate the new KCC Plant in Kiganjo, Kieni.
During his sojourn on Mount Kenya, Ruto was accompanied by his deputy, Rigathi Gachagua, the Prime Cabinet Secretary, Musalia Mudavadi, regional governors, and a number of CSs.
Ruto issued a stern warning to the Cabinet last week during the signature of performance contracts.
This occurred after Interior CS Kithure Kindiki and Trade and Industry CS Moses Kuria were shut out of State House for being late and for not having signed their contracts.
The two were denied access to the location, and the President demanded an explanation letter for their tardiness.
The President also mentioned some CSs and Principal Secretaries who, according to him, have limited knowledge of the dockets they oversee.
Ruto stated that some employees were unaware of what was occurring in their respective departments and ministries.
