Gatundu North Constituency member of parliament Hon Elijah Njoroge, has critisized the 2010 consititution describing it as a rogue consititution which has led to duplication of every function of government
While Speaking in an exclusive Interviews with a local media house, the youthful Lawmaker who got elected on an independent ticket claimed that the introduction of the county Governments was the worst mistake that happened to the country.

The member of parliament described the county government as a scam which should be done away with. He suggested that the country should only have the President, his ministers, and the MCAs whom he said should be like the former councillors who worked under the previous Constitution.
The member of parliament who served as a member of county Assembly previously noted that maintaining the governors, Deputy governors, and CECs is very expensive and the money could be channelled to other important issues other than the salaries paid to these individuals.
Further, the Lawmaker claimed that a lot of corrupt is going on at the county Governments with only 10% of the funds allocated to them go to development. He claimed that the governors only care about salaries for themselves and their staff.
However, he acknowledged that any move aimed at fighting Devolution will not succeed as a number of leaders are not aware of the burdens the county governments are causing.
“We should do away with county governments. Maintaining a Governor, MCA and a CEC in office is so expensive.” He said
“The idea of devolution and the formation of 47 counties is a duplication of roles. We have ministers in National Government, and then we have ministers in county governments.” He added.
