The High Court of Kenya has issued conservatory orders stopping Kanini Kega and his team from taking over Jubilee party. Earlier this week, Kanini Kega and his acolytes had been over the moon following the ruling by the Political Parties Dispute Tribunal which upheld the Registrar of political parties decision on the fate of Jubilee party.

According to reports, the judicial system has stopped the ejection of Jeremiah Kioni, David Murathe and Kagwe Gichohi from the secretary general, vice chairperson and treasurer positions respectively. The judge stated that the matter will be heard on 26th July, 2023 after Kioni’ s Jubilee faction petitioned the Political Parties Dispute Tribunal’ s ruling under a certified urgent matter.

The ruling by the High Court threw Kega into oblivion after being made the Secretary General of Jubilee party by the Political Parties Dispute Tribunal. However, Kioni and Kega will know their fates after the matter is settled by the court. Jeremiah Kioni on the other hand has lauded the prompt move by the High court to stop Kega and his people from taking over Jubilee party. Kioni stated that he was surprised with the ruling of the Political Parties Dispute Tribunal.

Jeremiah Kioni wondered why there was a rush to gazette new Jubilee party officials and yet the appellants were not even granted time to submit their views on the matter. Jeremiah Kioni further stated that no changes have been made in Jubilee leadership while affirming that the party is still an Azimio La Umoja One Kenya coalition political party affiliate.47dab639b886487b8cc06a4c95a77bb1?quality=uhq&resize=720
