The Anti-Counterfeit Authority (ACA) is established under the Anti-Counterfeiting Act, No. 13 of 2008, within the Ministry of Investments, Trade, and Industry (MITI). ACA’s mandate includes raising awareness about counterfeiting, combating the trade in counterfeit goods, and promoting legitimate trade.

We are now looking to hire competitively qualified individuals who are highly skilled, self-motivated, and have strong sense of competence as part of our ongoing efforts to increase our operational capacity and optimise the delivery of our mandate.

Positions : Basic Salary

1. Driver : KSHS 24,775 p.m

Job Specifications

The Driver is responsible to the Senior Administration Officer for: –
a) Carrying out minor mechanical repairs;
b) Recognizing and reporting malfunctioning of the vehicles;
c) Ensuring security of the vehicles on and off the road;
d) Ensuring safety of passengers and/or goods in the vehicle;
e) Maintaining cleanliness of the vehicle assigned to him; and
f) Ensuring possession of all the requisite documents and tools for any specific journey.

2. Finance & Accounts Officer

Job Specifications

The Finance & Accounts Officer is responsible to the Senior Finance & Accounts Officer and will be: –

a) Processing payments as per established procedures and policies
b) Capturing invoices/certificate of contract into the system
c) Reviewing payments vouchers to ensure compliance to approved procedures
d) Supervising daily cash count and posts transactions as per approved systems
e) Liaising with suppliers to facilitate reconciliation of accounts
f) Sorting out the reconciliation items in the bank statements, payroll and accruals accounts

3. Anti-Counterfeit Inspector

Job Specifications

The Anti-Counterfeit Inspector is responsible to the Senior Anti-Counterfeit Inspector and will: –

Conduct on job training for the inspectors;

a) Receive and act on complaints relating to enforcement of intellectual property rights;
b) Implement the prosecution policies and procedures;
c) Coordinate investigations of complaints from intellectual property rights owners;
d) Ensure that witnesses attend courts through witness summons;
e) Conduct prosecution of cases;

4. Legal Officer

Job Specifications

The Legal Officer is responsible to the Senior Legal Officer and will be: –

a) Compiling monthly reports on all cases being handled by the Authority;
b) Ensuring that all the documents received by the Authority are properly stamped, commissioned and registered;
c) Administering legal matters in the Authority;

5. Senior Human Resource Officer

Job Specifications

The Senior Human Resource Officer is responsible to the Principal Human Resource Management and Administration Officer for: –

a) Planning, coordinating and monitoring capacity building initiatives for the organization;
b) Facilitating and conducting training programmes, and seminars aimed at staff development and capacity building;
c) Monitoring the effectiveness and impact of the performance management programme;
d) Undertaking both the formative and summative evaluation procedures to monitor the effectiveness of the programme;

6. Senior Anti-Counterfeit Inspector

Job Specifications

The Senior Anti-Counterfeit Inspector is responsible to the Principal ACA Inspector and will: –
a) Be in charge of border points, airports, seaports and any other duty station as may be assigned;
b) Implement the prosecution policies and procedures;
c) Receive and act on complaints relating to enforcement of intellectual property rights;
d) Collect, collate, analyze data and compile monthly, quarterly and annual reports for onward transmission to the Principal Anti-Counterfeit Inspector in the region;

7. Senior Administration Officer

Job Specifications

The Senior Administration Officer is responsible to the Principal Human Resource Management and Administration Officer for: –

a) Facilitating the development and maintenance of proper information retrieval systems including filing departmental documents, correspondence and other materials in the appropriate location.
b) Facilitating the receipt and routing of all incoming and outgoing mail and ensures prompt posting / delivery as appropriate.
c) Facilitating the travel logistics including processing of travel documents in liaison with the Procurement Officer

8. Principal Legal Officer

Job Specifications

The Principal Legal Officer is responsible to Deputy Director Legal Services for: –

a) Initiating the development and formulation of policy concerning legal matters in the Authority;
b) Preparing the requisite documents and attending court proceedings;
c) Advising the Authority on compliance with Act, and other relevant laws;
d) Liaising with external lawyers on assigned litigation matters and other legal matters;
e) Compiling the annual report and statistics for the Division;
f) Initiating the drafting, reviewing and revision of legislation; and
g) Perform any other duty as may be assigned.

9. Deputy Director – Finance and Accounts

Job Specifications

The Deputy Director Finance/Accounts is responsible to Director Corporate Services for: –

a) Ensuring that all financial resources of the Authority are effectively and efficiently managed by maintaining financial controls, prudent procedures, adequate records, and accountability standards that meet requirements of the oversight governance body and regulatory authorities;
b) Ensuring financial practices of the organization are carried out in adherence to professional ethics and standards of accounting (per ICPAK and IAS, IFRS);
c) Coordinating, generation and analysis of financial and management accounts for the Management and Board;

10. Director – Internal Audit and Risk Assurance

Job Specifications

The Director, Internal Audit and Risk assurance is responsible to the Audit & Risk Committee functionally and administratively to the Executive Director for: –

a) Managing the core functions of the Internal Audit and Risk Department
b) Coordinating implementation of the vision, mission, set goals and objectives of the Authority;
c) Coordinating the preparation of respective board papers;
d) Oversees the development and continuous review and assessment of the internal audit and corporate risk management strategies, policies, guidelines, procedures and frameworks;
