Azimio Insider Reveals Their Two Plans With Signatures, Says They're Not Seeking For Ruto's Ouster

Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga on Friday initiated signature collections with an intention of impeaching President William Ruto, the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition party leader announced that they will be collecting 10 million signatures to support this bid.

However, there have been arguments that the Opposition can no remove the president from the office even if they collect the signatures. Some have also been arguing that there are laid out procedures of removing the president from the office.

However, one of the opposition politicians Fredrick Okango, has come out to explain their intension.

Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Narck-Kenya party leader Martha Karua, and other Azimio Officials (Okango in Specs) in a past press address.

While responding to former Mukuruweini constituency member of parliament Hon Kabando Wa Kabando’s remarks, Okango explained that their intension is not to impeach Ruto but to make him illegitimate and to withdraw the sovereigns’ delegated powers

“We are not seeking for impeachment but for Delegitimisation and withdrawal of the sovereigns’ delegated powers.” Okango said.

However, he not that the people themselves can remove Ruto from the office as they have the powers to adding that it’s not only the parliament that can remove the president from the office as Kabando Wa Kabando had argued.

“In any case, if the MPs are exercising delegated powers from the people to remove from office,then the people can actually take back those powers and remove by themselves.” The Kenya African National Union Party director of Political affairs said.
