President William Ruto and his Deputy Rigathi Gachagua are in Western region for a five day tour. Ruto will be accompanied by his Kenya Kwanza principals led by Ford Kenya party leader Moses Wetang’ula and his Amani National Congress (ANC) counterpart Musalia Mudavadi. This is the big tour the Head of State is making in Western region after winning last year’s August general election. The UDA leader will be launching various government projects in the counties of Bungoma, Kakamega, Busia, Vihiga and Trans Nzoia.

One of the regions regarded as Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s stronghold, Ruto is aiming to gain political support in this tour. On Sunday 27th August, Raila Odinga’s diehard ally who is also the Member of Parliament for Mumias East Peter Salasya drop down his political stand to meet the Head of State. Salasya had to put aside politics to join President Ruto for a church service service in Bungoma county.
