Angry MCAs In Nakuru Disrupt CS Ababu Namwamba's Event Citing Months Of Delayed Salaries

Ababu Namwamba; the embattled cabinet secretary for sports, had a difficult situation oearlier today when MCAs from various counties caused a disruption at an event he was supposed to start in Nakuru County.

The MCAs took advantage of CS Namwamba’s presence at the County Assemblies Sports Association (CASA) events to air their discontent; going so far as to interrupt the speaker and demand their unpaid wages.

CS Namwamba was present, although he wasn’t speaking to the crowd at that particular time. However, the MCAs took advantage of the chance to obstruct the proceedings by alleging months of unpaid salary and demanding urgent payment.

During the occasion at the Nakuru ASK showgrounds, a couple of the lawmakers even walked up to the podium to interact with the speaker.

The MCAs were waving different objects, including hats, and shouting in unison, “Haki yetu, haki yetu, haki yetu!” amid the commotion.

Police officers were quickly called to the site in reaction to the deteriorating situation to step in, restore peace, and avert any possible property damage.

The purpose of CS Namwamba’s attendance at the occasion was to supervise the fourth iteration of the games, in which all 47 countries took part.

In order to develop sports and the arts from the ground up, he said, “National government has forged a deliberate, intentional, and structured working relationship with Counties.” The seven-day festival will begin on Monday, August 19, and go through Sunday, August 27th.
