At the time of the raid, the United Democratic Alliance MP was away from his home, with reports indicating that he had returned to Nairobi.
However, police arrested two of the MP’s aides, given that Kenya Power established that the electricity was illegally connected.
In a viral video, Mbai is seemingly seen lecturing the KPLC staff at his home in Kitengela and even accused them of purportedly demanding bribes before supplying electricity to the residents of Kitengela.
According to the MP, the KPLC officials had delayed installing power at his Kitengela home and he chose to talk to their director in Nairobi.
