Days after defying high court’s order over the piny luo festival, four governors allied to Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party are on the verge of landing into fresh hurdles.
As relayed by a report covered on Thursday’s standard publication, the four county bosses namely; Anyang Nyong’o, Gladys Wanga, James Orengo and Ayacko are facing contempt suit for picking luo elder.
According to the report, Siaya high court has advised a faction led by Nyandingo Ongadi filed a suit challenging the election of Odungi Randa as the new chairman of Luo Council of Elders.
As a result, the four governors have been listed as respondents in the case challenging the election of Randa.
Besides, county government of Siaya under James Orengo and that of Kisumu led by Anyang Nyong’o alongside that of Siaya led by James Orengo have been named as respondents.
It should be noted that the event was graced by the former prime minister Raila Odinga who besides commissioning the stadium named after him, opened several facilities in Homa Bay.
