Welding, Platter, Piping, Mechanical,Rudder and Propeller

JOB OBJECTIVES (SUMMARY OF OVERALL JOB PURPOSE)

Lead, direct and administer skilled workers engaged in welding activities onboard and workshop.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Policies, Processes & Procedures:

Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.

Follow and comply with information Security Rules and data security measures in order to protect the company information / intellectual properties.

Day- to-day operations:

1. Ensure all necessary plant and welding equipment are maintained in a current operable and calibrated condition.
2. Ensure consumable control requirements are closely followed and workers are properly supplied with tools, equipment and materials.
3. Prevent wastage and misuse of equipment, materials and tools.
4. Ensure WPS for particular work scopes are displayed and the welders are aware of the requirements and comply with the same.
5. Exercise discipline at the work site to prevent absenteeism, unsafe work practices and idleness.
6. Liaise with other discipline foremen / supervision to ensure the optimum utilization of available resources, with the overall objective of successful completion of the project.
7. Assist the senior foreman and supervisors in planning activities.
8. Ensure that the workers are properly supplied with machineries, tools, equipment and materials and everything is in proper order and state of maintenance.
9. Perform inspections to ensure that the workers performance is up to the set standards.
10. Create progress reports on a daily basis and ensure that any significant information is communicated to the supervisor i.e. resource shortfalls, surplus, HSEQ concerns.
11. Follow the day-to-day operations related to own job to ensure continuity of work
12. Safety, Quality & Environment:
13. Responsible to comply with relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls and to behave in a manner, which ensures that their actions or omissions, do not adversely affect the environment, health, safety and wellbeing of themselves, colleagues, contractors or members of the public
14. Meeting all responsibilities as outlined in the DDW OHSMS

Job Qualifications: (Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities)

• Diploma in engineering or equivalent,Graduate in engineering or equivalent.
•  2 years trade apprentice course.
•  Familiarity with welding works with at least 3 years of experience as Foreman or Lead position.
• Knowledge of industrial structural fabrication, fitting methods, and welding techniques
• Knowledge of Hazardous Materials and Safety Regulations and industrial oilfield practices related to equipment/tool use and operation
•  Experience in ship repair and new building yard.
• • Ability to read, interpret and follow method statements and procedures, specifications, drawings, and all other discipline related project and engineering documentation.
• • Thorough knowledge in various types steel works, steel structures and welding procedure specifications
