The Kenya Institute for Public Policy Research and Analysis (KIPPRA) is excited to announce the KIPPRA Sponsored Young Professionals Programme for the year 2024/2025. This program, under the reference number KIPPRA/YP/24/25, is aligned with our mission to develop human and institutional capacities for formulating medium and long-term strategic perspectives for national development.

The Young Professionals (YP) Programme is a flagship initiative designed to nurture young talent in the field of public policy research and analysis. We are inviting applications to fill thirty (30) KIPPRA-sponsored positions. This program is both physically and intellectually demanding, incorporating coursework and the publication of research outputs.

Key areas covered in the coursework include the public policy-making process, legislative processes, research methods, policy analysis tools, governance structures, monitoring and evaluation, macroeconomic modeling, and social accounting matrices.

The primary objective of the YP Programme is to provide young professionals with on-the-job experience, expand their knowledge, enhance their leadership skills, and foster professional networks.

To be eligible for admission, candidates must hold a Master’s Degree and be below 35 years of age. Additionally, they should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, computer literacy, interpersonal skills, fluency in English, and legal residency in the country.

Successful candidates will undergo a thorough vetting process, including obtaining clearance certificates from various government agencies. They will also need to submit endorsement letters from relevant authorities if employed in the public sector.

  1. Do not indicate a preferred department for placement.
  2. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
  3. Employment after completion of the program is not guaranteed.
  4. The program must be completed within the stipulated one-year period.
