World Vision Kenya Hiring Data Collection Clerks – 1,200

World Vision Kenya is embarking on a significant initiative to conduct the Most Vulnerable Children Mapping (MVC) in select counties.

The primary objective is to identify the most vulnerable children and assess their vulnerabilities within the Area Program (AP).

To accomplish this vital mission, World Vision is seeking to recruit diligent and dedicated Data Collection Clerks in the following counties: Narok, Bomet, Kericho, Kisii, Uasin Gishu, Nakuru, and Kisumu.

Job Purpose

The role of the Data Enumerator is crucial in this endeavor. These individuals will be responsible for collecting field data and will be in direct contact with the respondents. The quality of data collected directly impacts the overall quality of the project’s output. The key responsibilities of the Data Enumerator include:

Roles

1. Participate in Orientation and Training: Engage in comprehensive orientation and training sessions to prepare for planned data collection activities.
2. Gather Materials: Obtain all the necessary materials required for each data collection activity, which includes the list of scheduled households and target respondents.
3. Ensure Timely Data Collection: Ensure that questionnaires are diligently completed and that data is submitted on a daily basis.
4. Record and Summarize Qualitative Data: Accurately record and summarize qualitative data gathered during fieldwork.
5. Daily Data Sharing: Share the data collected with the supervisor and the team on a daily basis to maintain open communication and enhance the quality of data collection.
6. Capture Field Activities: Take action pictures while in the field to document interesting evidence of field activities, which can contribute to the project’s success.
7. Area Coverage: Ensure comprehensive coverage of the assigned area to guarantee that no data is left uncollected.
8. Debriefing Meetings: Attend debriefing meetings to conclude each data collection activity effectively.
9. Adaptability: Be willing to undertake other relevant activities as requested, demonstrating flexibility and commitment to the project’s success.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

1. Educational Qualifications: At the minimum, possess a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE). Additional qualifications such as a College Certificate, Diploma, or Degree will be considered an advantage.
2. Language Skills: Be fluent in the local language, Kiswahili, and English, as effective communication with respondents is essential.
3. Computer Literacy: Possess good computer literacy skills to handle data collection tools and technology effectively.
4. Integrity: Demonstrate honesty and maintain high ethical standards throughout the data collection process.
5. Mobile Technology: Ability to operate smart mobile phones, which may be used for data collection and reporting.

Remuneration

Data Collection Clerks will receive a daily remuneration of KES. 2,000 for their dedicated efforts in collecting critical data that will drive impactful change.
