Job Description

Requirements for Appointment 

i. Served in the grade of Senior Valuer for a minimum period of three (3) years; or have experience in land valuation in a reputable organization for a period not less than 6 years;

ii. Bachelor’s degree in any of the following fields; Land Economics, Real Estate, and Property Studies or its approved equivalent qualification from a recognized institution. 

iii. Have a certificate in Senior Management Course lasting for a period of not lasting less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution; 

iv. Be registered by the Valuers Registration Board

v. Be a full member of the Institute of Surveyors of Kenya (ISK) 

vi. Attend a Project Management Course lasting not less than four weeks from a recognized institution; 

vii. Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

Duties and Responsibilities 

i. Enforcing provisions of various statutes. 

ii. Undertaking valuation for purposes of land purchase. 

iii. Undertaking valuation for Stamp duty, undertaking valuation of Assets for the County Government of Migori; 

iv. Analyzing data for the development and review of the County Land Value Index;

v. Preparing main and supplementary valuation rolls;

vi. Attend court on valuation matters; 

vii. Analyzing market data for valuation purposes; 

viii. Determining ground rent during sub-division, alienation, change of user, and extension of lease; 

ix. Developing valuation database; 

x. Responsible for research activities, administration, and supervision of all staff working under
