Senior Registrar Radiology & Imaging
Main Duties
- Interpretation and reporting of the imaging studies that includes Conventional Radiography, Fluoroscopy, Ultrasound, Mammography, Cross-sectional imaging (MRI and CT). Additional skill in basic image guided interventional procedures would be an added advantage
- Work alongside radiographers, sonographers and other health professionals in administering treatment
- Ensuring proper handling of emergency cases when on duty
- Ensuring that high standards of diagnostic accuracy and patient care are maintained
- In liaison with the HOD and other radiologists, ensuring that legal obligations for radiation protection are observed
- Participating in clinical audit and reviewing programs for the department
- Ensuring consistency with the procedure protocols, patient conditions, physical abilities and age requirements
- Screening all patients using best practice in radiation protection to protect patients, fellow staff members and self
- Attending and on request, facilitating multi-disciplinary meetings
- Attending to teleconsultations and other Ad hoc consultations
- Provision of expert radiological advice to Hospital clinical teams as may be requested
- Participating in quality improvement initiatives within the department and providing reports as required
- Any other duty assigned
Required Qualifications for the Position
- Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBChB)
- Masters of Medicine in Radiology
- Computer Proficiency
- Valid practicing license and indemnity
- Ability to utilize Radiology Information system (RIS) and PACS

Perioperative Nurse
Main Duties
- Providing high quality nursing care and safe clinical practice to patients undergoing theatre Surgical procedures in accordance with ethical, safety and professional standards
- Providing professional empathetic care to patients, explain procedures to them, and provide support and reassurance
- Performing pre-procedure assessments, coordinating nursing care, formulating patient care plans, and evaluating outcomes
- Preparing the procedure room, ensuring the correct supplies, medication, equipment, and instruments are set up and prepared for use and all equipment is in a clean and safe condition
- Ensuring all monitoring equipment is fully calibrated prior to use
- Assisting the Anesthetist and Surgeon and undertake procedures and skills in a competent and safe way
- Performing proper aseptic techniques, isolation procedures, and infection control measures
- Assisting in Providing IV cannulation as required
- Administering interventions, treatments and medications to patients pre-& post procedures according to authorized prescription and our established policy and guidelines
- Adhering to health and safety protocols relating to safe administration and disposal of drugs
- Accurate & complete documentation in a timely manner
- Adherering to the WHO surgical safety checklist which entails signing in, time out and signing out of patients
- Undertaking correct post-procedure disinfection processes, care and handling of equipment, ensuring all used instruments are disposed of, decontaminated and sterilized as appropriate, and all areas are cleaned
- Performing admission, recovery, discharge and transfer functions; coordinate with ancillary and support services as required
- Providing pre and post-procedure information and instruction to patients, their care giver and/or support person
- Recognizing and responding appropriately to emergency situations
- Utilizing nursing interventions to reducing risks and complications
- Reporting any adverse incidents or complaints
- Monitoring consumables and ensuring appropriate stock levels are maintained
- Providing back up support for the Theatre Sterilizing Unit as required
- Any other duty as assigned
Required Qualifications for the Position
- Diploma in Kenya Registered Community Health Nurses (KRCHN)
- Higher National Diploma in Perioperative Nursing (KRPON)
- Computer Proficiency
- Registered with NCK with a valid practicing license
- Minimum experience of 2 years as a Perioperative Nurse
