Key Purpose Statement:
The CDE Technician ensures all cooling equipment in the trade is in good working condition, attending to reported breakdowns promptly. This role reports to the CDE Controller.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Execute Planned Maintenance Activities:
- Perform routine checklists and report abnormalities to the CDE Controller.
- Maintain and repair coolers as per work orders, ensuring all quality requirements are met.
- Collect information, document it, and provide feedback to relevant customers.
- Ensure required spares and tools are located and obtained.
- Prioritize jobs to maximize product quality within the set maintenance schedule.
- Execute Cooler Maintenance:
- Implement the maintenance plan.
- Regularly maintain coolers to ensure high reliability and maximum uptime.
- Maintain coolers as per schedule.
- Ensure good housekeeping in the workshop (5S principles) for cleanliness and safety.
- Conduct breakdown repairs and troubleshoot faults.
- Investigate all breakdowns using the 5 Why process.
- Adhere to safe maintenance procedures and requirements.
- Focused Improvement:
- Minimize waste and reduce time spent getting tools and spare parts.
- Reduce breakdowns through preventive maintenance and carry out improvements to enhance cooler uptime.
Skills, Experience & Education:
Qualifications:
- KCSE with a Trade Certificate in Cooling and Refrigeration.
- A Diploma in Cooling and Refrigeration is an added advantage.
Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Cooler/Refrigeration role.
