Footballer’s wife Coleen Rooney is the ‘digital cover’ of the UK September issue and it’s raising eyebrows in the snobbish world of fashion mags.

‘It’s blowing everyone’s mind,’ a source told the Daily Mail. ‘Miriam Margolyes was the cover in June, Maya Jama from Love Island in August – and now Wayne Rooney’s wife!

‘People are joking that he’s doing it on purpose, as revenge on Anna [Wintour, Vogue’s head honcho]. What’s next? Holly Willoughby and Rylan Clark?’

The actual cover for U.S. and UK Vogue for September – of supermodels Linda Evangelista, Naomi Campbell, Christy Turlington and Cindy Crawford plugging their forthcoming Apple TV+ documentary series – was also styled by Enninful.

While some have praised the reunion of the original women ‘who won’t get out of bed for less than $10,000 a day’, critics have called it sub-par, lazy and poorly lit.

Enninful’s new role will be as an editorial advisor to British Vogue and a ‘global creative and cultural adviser’ to the brand.

During Rooney’s bombshell interview with British Vogue, she finally broke her silence on the £3million libel case she won against Rebekah Vardy.

After maintaining a dignified silence, Rooney, has branded her nemesis, 41, ‘odd’ and said her ‘evil’ texts read in court made her sick.

Vardy had sued Rooney over an accusation she had leaked details of Rooney’s private life to the press after she had staged an elaborate sting operation to find out who was passing on stories about her to The Sun.

Rooney told Vogue how she came up with a plot to foil the person who had been leaking stories, by planting false stories to her private account and only making them visible to Vardy’s account but didn’t tell a soul what she was up to, not even a lawyer.

But Vardy soon hit back following the interview, blasting Rooney as ‘boring and publicity-seeking’.

The WAG took to Instagram on Thursday to share a bikini snap, and made a number of digs at Rooney in the comments section, accusing her rival of seeking out ‘publicity’.

Vardy did not shy away from hitting out at Rooney for her Vogue interview, slamming her comments as ‘boring’.
