Her gown and dramatic veil fanned out behind her as she smiled beside Johnny in the first insight into their day.

Vicky held a bunch of pretty wild flowers, while Jonny wore a navy suit with a pale blue satin tie.

‘Tied up in Notts!!! Best. Day. Ever!!!!!’ Vicky wrote, as she announced the joyous news to her followers on Instagram after becoming engaged in December 2017.

A second photo gave an insight into the celebrations as Vicky and Jonny danced while the Dementia Choir performed on stage at the Metronome venue in the city.

The actress starred in a BBC One documentary series, the Dementia Choir, in 2019 which explored the vital link between music and dementia.

The show also documented what music therapy can do for those living with dementia as well as celebrating the personal journeys of the choir.

Vicky, who plays Detective Sergeant Kate Fleming in the hit BBC drama Line Of Duty, has previously spoken about her grandmother Iris’ dementia battle after she tragically passed away in 2015.

Vicky and her new husband announced the news on his daughter Katie Owen’s BBC Wales show on Friday, after she had to leave the wedding early to work.

Vicky told Katie live on air: ‘We’ve had the most amazing special day and we’re gutted you had to go back but we’re so proud of you.

‘You’re missing lots of dancing but we can do that again.’

Vicky and Jonny met while filming Svengali, a film which Jonny wrote, in 2012, but she claimed to have fallen in love before they even met in person.

Welsh news site Nation Cymru reported her as saying on BBC Radio Wales: ‘When we first spoke it was on the phone. I came off the phone and I just knew.

‘I’ve never loved anyone more than I’ve loved Jonny.’

He added: ‘I remember we were walking down Southbank [in London] on a weekend break from filming and we were going to the Tate Modern and she turned to me and asked me if I fancied going to the pub instead.

‘And I was like, well, yeah! I thought, “What a girl”.

‘I think we almost simultaneously both went, “I fancy you!” It just tumbled from there and we haven’t been apart since that moment.

‘I was going through a divorce at the time and I’d been separated for seven or eight months. I think we went from “I like you” in the pub to “I love you” in about 10 seconds.’

In 2021, Vicky revealed Jonny left her engagement ring in a pub when he was drunk before he proposed.

The actress said that the producer was out with his friends drinking and had the expensive jewellery in his pocket.

He then decided to give it to a barman to keep it safe, but ended up forgetting about it.

She told The Nottingham Post: ‘He got the ring, then met his mates, and it was Christmas time, obviously, because we got engaged on Christmas Day.

‘And he got absolutely wasted and was like, ‘I’ve got this b***** expensive ring in my pocket, so he gave it to the barman who put it in the safe.’

At the end of the night out he forgot the bar man had taken it and left to go back to the couple’s Nottingham home on the tram.

Vicky went on to explain: ‘And then he remembered and got the tram back. Yeah, he made it. It made it in one piece.’
