Drama unfolded when Promise Karanja, a 22-year-old Kenyan man, brought his 42-year-old partner Terryanne to meet his relatives. YouTuber Nicholas Kioko joined them for the introduction in Kahawa West, but the situation turned chaotic.
Instead of asking his 40-year-old mother for her thoughts, the opinions of friends and family took precedence.
“We can’t approve of this. She’s older than your mother. Are you sure? Did her money influence your feelings? This isn’t love; you’re being used,” a woman in pink expressed.
She emphasized the age gap, stating that the woman had experienced a lot and seen many things.
“You two shouldn’t be together,” she added. Amid the criticism, Promise held Terrryanne’s hand, worsening the situation.
“Stop displaying affection in front of us. Who do you think you are, the first ones in love? Do you really want to touch this older woman in front of your mother?” the woman questioned.
She promised to help Promise find a younger woman and threatened to cut ties. “If you insist on this, you’ll bring bad luck to the family.”
Another woman shared similar thoughts, and as they held hands again, she stood up. “Don’t touch each other before me,” she warned.
She stated they would never accept the relationship, expecting a younger woman. However, a younger woman saw no issue if they loved each other, but the other two women disagreed.
Promise and Terryanne held hands once more, resulting in their expulsion from the house with the words “Leave and never return.”
