Jenelle Evans’ husband, David Eason, is now facing more serious charges in his criminal child abuse case.
According to TMZthe Teen Mom star’s wife has been charged with one count of child abuse and one count of assault by strangulation.
The news about Eason, whose behavior was defended by his wife earlier this year, was also confirmed by an official at the Columbus County Courthouse in North Carolina.
TMZ reported that Eason, 35, had been accused of physical abuse by Evans’ son Jace, 14, last October.
The 32-year-old Teen Mom star’s son had run away from home several times before then, and each time he was returned to his parents.

However, sources claimed that Jace, whose father is his mother’s former partner Andrew Lewis, claimed Eason attacked him after his most recent attempt to run away from home.
The insiders further claimed that Evans’ son had visible marks on his neck and arms, and that the alleged attack allegedly took place at an acquaintance’s home.
Both local police and the CPS are said to have obtained Ring CCTV footage of the incident.
Following the alleged assault, Evans and Eason both became the subject of an investigation for suspected child neglect.
It was reported that the latter of the two had been officially charged with a crime related to his involvement in the October incident.
Officials have since determined that a separate charge for alleged strangulation applies to the media figure’s husband.
While Evans could also be charged in connection with the case, she has not yet been charged.
According to TMZJace was placed in the care of his maternal grandmother, Barbara, last November.

However, the reality TV personality’s son ran away from Barbara’s home when she took his cell phone after he was caught using a vape at school.
Although Evans, CPS and the foster care team had advised Jace’s grandmother to limit his cell phone use, she did not follow the advice and felt she could handle the teen.
The media figure’s son was missing from Barbara’s home for about a day and a half before he was found.
Jace was placed in a hospital after the incident and there were also plans to place him in a foster home.
