Strictly Come Dancing’s Angela Scanlon left red-faced as she accidentally drops spoiler as she prepares to return to show for one last performance during Saturday’s final

Strictly Come Dancing's Angela Scanlon was left red-faced when she accidentally revealed a spoiler ahead of Saturday's series finale during an appearance on spin-off show It Takes Two on Friday.

The Irish TV presenter, 39, covered her mouth as it dawned on her that she may have said too much during a conversation with professional dancer Amy Dowden.

Amy, 33, is taking a break from being a pro on this year's Strictly after she was diagnosed with cancer, but appeared on It Takes Two to discuss Angela's return for one last dance with her partner Carlos Gu, 30, after the pair missed the chance got a boost from last month's competition.

Sparkling star Amy asked, “Angela, are you looking forward to spinning around the ballroom again?”

To which Angela replied, “Oh, I can't wait! I also love that everyone gets to do one of their favorite little moments, so for myself and Carlos we're doing Charleston…'

Amy suggested Angela shouldn't have revealed which dance she would be doing, saying: 'Little spoiler there, little spoiler!

To which Angela exclaimed, “Oh, sorry, can't I say that?!”

Angela added, “Anyway, you heard it here first! Yeah, so I can't wait, I'm definitely excited to put the old Charleston hat back on!'

It comes after Strictly head judge Shirley Ballas revealed the reason why she wanted to vote out Layton Williams in week 10 after the pair sparked feud rumors.

The outspoken judge stunned viewers when she revealed she wanted to save Angela and Carlos instead of Layton and Nikita Kuzmin after both couples ended up in the dance-off.

While Angela was sent home after Motsi Mabuse, Craig Revel-Horwood and Anton Du Beke decided to save Layton, Shirley's action led to speculation of a feud with the West End star.

And now Shirley has made it clear that she wanted to save Angela because she felt there were “a lot of elements missing” from Layton's American Smooth.

On Thursday's It Takes Two, she said: 'He was lucky the other three saved him.

Layton will take on Ellie Leach and Bobby Brazier in the live final of Strictly on Saturday, with each couple performing three dances in a bid to lift the Glitterball Trophy.

Layton narrowly avoided being kicked out of the competition after entering the dance competition for the first time in Week 10.

Shirley said in her critique: 'What is always important to me when it comes to Ballroom and Latin is the character of the dance, that it is true to the dance, timing and quality, and I would have voted for Angela and Carlos. '

Viewers flocked to X, formerly known as Twitter, to suggest Shirley 'has a problem' with Layton.

“Between her comments last night and the choice to save Angela tonight, Shirley has an obvious personal problem with Layton and I don't want to hear anything else. I hope this doesn't break his confidence,” one person wrote.

“So Shirley voted for Angela and Carlos because of the way Nikita choreographed? So, she says, regardless of how Layton performed, whether it was good or bad, she voted against it because the character of the dance was off? How is that Layton's fault?' pointed to another.

'It was the right decision to let Layton and Nikita advance to the quarter-finals. @ShirleyBallas was absolutely wrong. The boys deserve a place in the finals,” a third emphasized.

Shirley has now clarified that she wanted to save Angela because she felt there were 'a lot of elements missing' from Layton's American Smooth, adding that she is still 'thrilled' that it made it to the final.

“Shirley definitely has a problem with Layton, her comments to him this week were actually downright rude. She also can't stand the boos from the audience.'

Layton himself turned to X to admit, “That was close! So grateful that we made it to Musical Week! Since I'm in the bottom two, I got a (fire emoji) in my (peach emoji). Big love to all our supporters.”

Actor Layton has also revealed that he has fallen victim to online trolls who say he is too experienced in dancing to appear on the show.

The star, who dances with male professional Nikita, 25, said the level of trolling was 'shocking' and admitted that although Strictly had featured same-sex couples in the past, he is the first 'queer' contestant to show their queer participant fully expresses. flamboyant' personality on the ballroom floor.

Ahead of Saturday's final, he said: “I was obviously aware that there might be noise, but I definitely didn't expect how much it would be because I'm certainly not the first person to be in this position and I I don't understand why this is shocking horror news, because I'm not the first and won't be the last. Let's keep it moving, you know?

“From the beginning I thought, cool, if people expect a certain level, let's give it to them and then some.”

“Here's the funny thing, no one goes hard and moans or complains when I'm rubbish… remember the Viennese Waltz? I didn't get many tweets that week, did I! It's only when you act cute that people want to put you down, and that's fine, and we've managed to get around that.
