- Woman allegedly stole car with toddler in the back
- She was taken into custody after the car and toddler were found
A woman has been taken into custody after allegedly stealing a car with a child in the backseat before taking off, sparking a wild chase.
The car’s owner was just outside a private property on Saint Paul’s Terrace in Spring Hill, Brisbane, when the alleged perpetrator jumped into the car and fled around midday.
The car’s owner, whose child and phone were in the car, allegedly got into another car and gave chase before cutting off the alleged perpetrator and bringing her to a stop.
She is then believed to have gotten out of the car and returned it to its owner.

A Queensland Police spokesperson confirmed the child was found “unharmed” in the back of the car.
“One person is in custody and is assisting police with the investigation,” the spokesperson said.
Investigations are underway.
