Noel Gallagher reveals the Oasis reunion will include loads of 'fit f**king birds' as he details the band's struggles in the early days: 'I don't know how we got by'

Noel Gallagher has revealed what he thinks the highly-anticipated Oasis reunion would look like if it were to ever happen.

The rocker, 56, has been embroiled in a very public feud with his brother Liam, 50, since Oasis split in 2009, though there has been recent talk that the warring siblings could finally unite for a comeback gig.

And teasing a reunion once again in an interview with The Sun, Noel – who split from wife of 12 years Sara MacDonald this year – cheekily shared his thoughts on what the gig would look like, remarking: ‘Me, Liam and a load of fit f**king birds.’

The musician then went on to quip how the band would look much different these days as they’ve grown older, noting his hair was ‘a bit thicker’ in his Oasis heyday.

It has recently been claimed that an idea has been put forward by Liam’s agents Wasserman for four huge concerts to take place at the 125,000 capacity venue Knebworth in Hertfordshire in 2025.

The brothers performed in front of 250,000 at Knebworth in two huge gigs back in 1996, while Liam returned to the location to take to the stage for 170,000 in 2022.

Speaking of Oasis, Noel said: ‘If you didn’t see Oasis live right up until the end, you haven’t really seen a band live. The thing that started on a council estate in a tiny bedroom went around the world. The songs speak for themselves. There is a new generation now that have taken ownership of it. Crack on, have a great time.’

Despite giving no further hints about the reunion, Noel opened up about the band’s struggles in the early days, especially with their lack of good sound equipment, stating: ‘I don’t know how we got by.’

Oasis have sold 75 million albums worldwide, having released hit albums including Definitely Maybe and What’s The Story Morning Glory? Their final studio album, Dig Out Your Soul, was released in 2008.

And despite the band barely having money to buy state-of-the-art sound equipment, he notes that this was in fact the key to their success as it helped them create a certain sound.

He said: ‘The sound we are known for comes from the fact it was the only sound we could get out of the equipment we had at the time. Everyone goes on about the f***ing sound. It was because the equipment we had was s**t. We masked it all with volume.’

He added that he wrote Liam’s vocal parts in a ‘higher register’ in order to sing ‘over the racket’.

Looking back on their huge success that followed, Noel recalled how they struggled to keep their distinctive sound as their swanky new equipment which they could now afford sounded ‘too good’.

Over the past few years, the siblings have continued to trade insults, with reports of a reunion continually circling.

At the end of November 2020, Liam appeared on the Jonathan Ross Show, claiming there was ‘nothing left on the table’ to fix his row with Noel.

The Oasis frontman singer revealed his brother turned down £100million to join him on a reunion tour.

Speaking about Noel, who he said wouldn’t engage with the idea of ending their feud, Liam said: ‘I think we’re both the problem and the problem is that he thinks he’s not the problem. He thinks I’m both the problems.

‘Whereas I’m just a problem. I’m half the problem, whereas I can’t be having him thinking I’m the full problem.

‘He needs to take on some of the problem. The minute he does that we’ll move on. He needs to own his problem… No [I haven’t spoken to him]. I don’t think it’s going to happen.’

In January 2021, Liam appeared to offer an olive branch and raise hopes of a reconciliation as he tweeted: ‘HNY Noel love you long time 2021 is our year c’mon you know LG x’.

Noel didn’t respond, and Liam didn’t tag his brother’s Twitter handle into his reconciliation tweet.

It comes after, following initially reports of Knebworth being a potential venue, it was reported that Oasis could potentially reunite at Etihad Stadium, the home of  Noel and Liam’s favourite club Manchester City, according to reports.

The Sun reports that there are rumours of a potential reunion for the band in 2025, with the football ground being floated as a suggested venue option.

A source told the publication: ‘Liam loves football, and reuniting the band at his favourite stadium would be a dream come true.

‘It’s still very early days and the proposed dates are a long way off, but if all the members agree to do it, music history will be made.’
