On TikTok, Melissa recapped how she got Selena ready for the inaugural Rare Impact Fund Gala, explaining “the context of the event” and the outfit both of which helped her “design a makeup look.”
Since Selena changed outfits throughout the evening, Melissa came up with a “chic and elevated” glam that would pair well with her silver sequin dress and flirty purple gown.
“It’s about looking really polished and chic,” Melissa explained.
The beauty content creator ultimately opted for “softer tones and just went for a slightly defined and elongated eye with a soft fluffy brow” so that the glamor wouldn’t compete with the outfit.

“The real secret behind Selena’s eyebrows is to make them look really nice and full, yet be able to see all the individual hairs, giving them a brushed, feathered, soft look, rather than being too dense,” Melissa revealed.
Melissa never applies product to the front of the brow because she wants it to look “really soft.”
Melissa ensures that the shape of Selena’s forehead “stays true” to her natural brow structure, “rather than creating a peak or something too angular.” Melissa then pulls the tail of the forehead outward to lengthen the forehead and lift the eye.

“If you fill in too much there, you look angry and the brows look too intense,” Melissa revealed.

Melissa explained how to get “juicy, hydrated, dewy” skin Selena.
“To get a realistic shine, some kind of gloss layers have to come through,” Melissa explained.
She starts with a brightening primer all over the face, but suggested that people who get oily use this primer on the edges of their face and then a mattifying primer in the center.

“You don’t want to suffocate the skin. I think that takes away from the juicy glow,” the makeup artist said, suggesting a thick foundation brush.
