‘Strange smell, small garden furniture. It should be illegal to advertise as property for sale,” one person said.

Others said editing images of a property is “misleading” to renters and buyers.

Some joked that the furniture was so small it looked like it was “for ants.”

The real estate agent currently selling the 112 square meter apartment, including two bathrooms, Daily Mail Australia admits the lounge set is fake, but buyers can be reassured the apartment and unit floor plan are very real.

“Sometimes when the unit is empty, the owner asks us to put in digitally designed furniture,” he said.

He said photographers often edit images of properties to change the color of the sky, add “contrast” and make the photo “brighter.”

The home listing also includes a disclaimer at the bottom informing buyers that “digital styling furniture” has been used that is “not real.”

Home seekers are urged to always be personally present at a home inspection to view the structure and layout of a home.
