Seasoned media personality Willis Raburu had a candid interview with content creator Phil Director on his podcast, where he opened up about his struggle with weight. Raburu revealed that he faced alot of ridicule because of his body weight.

Sadly, some of his friends in the media industry joined social media trolls in body shaming him. This took a toll on his mental health.

According to Raburu, the negative comments were vulgar and ruthless. People would flock his timeline with mean comments whenever he posted a photo.

It reached a point when he could not read the comments anymore to protect his mental health.

“It was actually really stressing, hurting and disturbing. It got to me a lot of times. Sometimes you’ve just posted a picture, but the comments, what people are saying… And it’s more of how they’re saying it. They’re very vulgar and ruthless,” Raburu on the podcast.

Raburu recounted how a hurtful comment from a radio presenter he did not name hurt him deeply. He was forced to confronted the radio presenter and express his disappointment.

He emphasized the importance of supporting each other instead of putting each other down. Raburu has since lost weight after undergoing Gastric Bypass surgery.
