It is believed the images were taken during Keith’s impromptu performance with Jimmy after the Australian couple ran into the musician on the Caribbean island of St. Barts

Speaking to American Country Countdown in 2020, Keith recalled: ‘Jimmy Buffett was [in St. Barts], and I ended up sitting in with him for a couple of songs [laughing], as you do.’

‘There was a little club that he was going to—it’s a bit of a long story—but he and his wife had their boat there, and they were just on the island for a couple of days, and we ran into them somehow ’cause we were just visiting,’ he continued.

‘And, he was like, ‘Hey, we’re gonna go see this band play. You wanna come with us?’ So, we went with them and then, they called Jimmy up to do a song. So, he got up and did a couple of songs, and the next minute, he gets me up to do a few songs. It was cool.’

Jimmy’s death was confirmed via a statement posted to his official website and social media pages.

‘Jimmy passed away peacefully on the night of September 1st surrounded by his family, friends, music and dogs,’ the statement read.

Buffett died after being diagnosed with skin cancer four years ago, a source told TMZ.

He entered a hospice on Monday and had been visited by Paul McCartney at his home a week ago, with the former Beatle singing to Buffett and his family.

From humble beginnings as an admitted small-time marijuana smuggler in Key West, Buffett built a sprawling business empire based on his Caribbean-flavored soft rock that celebrated the Florida Keys, sunshine and nightlife.

His name became synonymous with a laid-back subtropical party vibe, and his legions of loyal fans, known as ParrotHeads, flocked to his restaurants, resorts and concerts. At his death, Buffet had a net worth of $1 billion, according to Forbes.

‘Margaritaville,’ released on February 14, 1977, quickly took on a life of its own, becoming a state of mind for those ‘wastin away,’ and an excuse for a life of low-key fun and escapism for those ‘growing older, but not up.’
