“My Children Find it Hard to Get Jobs Here in Kenya Because of How People See Me” Akothee Says

Esther Akoth alias Akothee has revealed in an interview that being a celebrity affects her children especially when they try to look for jobs.

That sometimes they are treated badly when they knock on doors to ask for jobs because of how people see her.

She said, “Being a celebrity has two sides of the coin. It can actually open doors for you and equally close doors for you. My children find it very difficult to get jobs here in Kenya. When they knock doors they are met with hatred from the women and men who look at me in some other angle.”

According to Akothee, it is unfair for people to judge her children because of her past. That they are independent adults with degrees.

Most people say that she is not a role model but according to her she knows she is one because she has raised disciplined kids who are humble just like herself.
