Days after he was promised a house, Kenyan singer Stivo Simple Boy has confirmed receiving a 1-bedroom apartment from Mumias East MP Peter Salaysa.
According to Stivo, the house along Outering Road is perfect and he is currently in the process of furnishing it after receiving money from the MP.
“Tumehamia nyumba mpya. Iko sehemu za Fedha. Mheshimiwa nampeda, amesema na akatenda. Uwanja iko pia na kuna sebuleni. Yaani mambo ni mazuri. Rent ni Ksh13,000,” he said during an interview with Ankali Ray on Milele FM.
In a different interview with Presenter Ali, MP Salasya noted that in the next few days, he will also construct a house for the singer in his village in Oyugis. The MP says he was moved by Simple Boy’s genuine but sad state.
“Stivo is a genuine person and when I met him, I could see it and he has reached the end of his life and all I want is to help him not for clout but genuinely,” he stated.
The legislator also challenged Stivo to consider going back to school to learn a skill.
“Steve nataka uende class. Utakuja uniambie pia unataka kusomea nini depending with your interest. Apart from your music, I want you to get a skill,” he said.
At the same time, he pledged to educate Stivo’s wife Grace Atieno. He said he will sponsor a short course for her to study as a way of getting the couple a long-term solution.
“Stivo pia wewe unaeza rudi Unajua haina haja yeye pia akae tu na watu walisema pia instead of just short term we offer long term solutions so akishasomea iyo short course ntamfungulia salon.”
Meanwhile, several celebrities including comedians Mulamwah and Eric Omondi had offered to help singer Stivo Simple Boy following his plea to Kenyans which the MP dismissed as mere publicity stunts.
“Ati Eric Omondi anasema ametafutia Stivo kazi Safaricom, hizo ni porojo tu,” he said.
Stivo Simple Boy has been on the trend list since his wife disclosed they are broke noting that Stivo is too gentle to fight for his rights.
Days later, Stivo’s management dubbed Men In Black (MIB) announced the termination of their contract with the singer after he accused it of letting him suffer in poverty in a recent interview.
“We would like to notify you that we no longer wish to proceed with our musical contract with you. This letter serves as a notice to you of our intent to terminate the contract in a lawful and in accordance with the protocols,” MIB said.
